Reasons for choosing TheraPlatform
Goldenberg searched online and took a few months trying out several EHRs before choosing TheraPlatform, the only tool SmartTherapy now uses to manage its practice – which was a big draw.
“It's easy to use … it's kind of a one-stop shop,” she said.
“You don't have to use Zoom or Google Meets or send links to a client through email. Everything is automatic – the reminders, the text messages, the email reminders, everything … You can contact the clients and connect with the clients through the platform. You can send them attachments, you can send them the records. I like all of that,” she said.
Intuitive interface and easy-to-follow insurance billing
Being new to insurance billing and running a group practice, Goldenberg said she had much to learn, but with the help of the prompts inside TheraPlatform’s software, she was able to understand the processes for managing insurance billing better.
“It was a platform that made the self-learning process of building a practice easier. (We were) saving time and money with a platform that offers it all without the need of other technologies,” she said.
Prompts such as issue codes for items such as deductibles provided clues on how to proceed.
“Honestly, that platform was a big part of understanding how the (insurance billing) process works because the billing system is very efficient,” she said.
Once she understood TheraPlatform’s system and processes, she found TheraPlatform’s interface intuitive and easy to teach others.
The low learning curve for using TheraPlatform helped Smart Therapy PC scale from 45 to 60 sessions a week to nearly 1,000 a week. The staff also increased from one therapist to 80 therapists in about three years.
Clients also appreciate TheraPlatform’s ease of use, Goldenberg said.
Telehealth
Video session integration was a key factor for Goldenberg when choosing an EHR. She knew she wanted to transition to virtual therapy services and was seeking a solution that was part of a larger EHR, but also simpler in terms of being able to securely access tools from a single location.
“You don’t have to use Zoom or Google meet or send links to a client through email,” she said.
She said she also likes that therapists can have their own virtual waiting rooms.
Security
Security was also a priority for Goldenberg when wanting to scale her practice. TheraPlatform’s HIPAA-compliant and bank-level encryption offered numerous protections.
“There are a lot of gateways, safety gateways, in place to make sure that one patient cannot join while you're having a session with the other patient,” she said.
She also appreciated the different permission levels for different kinds of users.
Excellent customer service
In addition to TheraPlatform features, Goldenberg said she was impressed by TheraPlatform’s customer service.
“It is not just the platform, it is the team behind TheraPlatform, always willing to help and receptive to feedback to bring updates requests to live,” she said.
Goldenberg says she reaches out to TheraPlatform's customer support team for feature requests and has found the team was responsive.
